Here comes the rain again

After a dry spell of a few months, since early February, I was finally visited a couple of weeks ago by some new missionaries. After briefly chatting with them and asking them to come back last week, I also received a Facebook IM from one of the local overseers - a retired man who has come to New Zealand from Utah as a missionary administrator, and who helps to look after the church and the young missionaries arriving here from around the world:

My first Book of Mormon Stories

The current intrepid set of Mormon missionaries visiting me at my house have been very tenacious. Over the last month and a half or so, they have visited almost every week - and have also invited me on a tour of the local church in Titahi Bay. It's been an interesting experience, not least because this current pair of young missionaries are joined by a man from Utah in his 70s - one of the post-retirement missionaries that are sent around the world, usually with their spouses, to take on leadership and administration roles in the church in the country they end up in. It certainly seems like a much nicer role than that of the younger missionaries, with more stability and creature comforts.

Apologies for this week's newsletter being a little late - I was planning to finish it off last night, but I was hit by some weird medical issue where I had a horrible headache and ended up sleeping from 5pm to get rid of it.
