Conference Update

Our 2026 conference at Tá¿¡ranga Library in Christchurch is just over 2 months away, and we have some exciting updates.
But first, our early bird sale concludes on May 31st. From June 1st, ticket prices will go up by $20 to their normal price.
The Skeptics Guide to the Universe still have tickets available for their July 31st (Friday) Extravaganza. Head over to their website to get yours and support our overseas guests:
Our free, pre-conference social will also be on the same night, with festivities commencing at 7pm, after the Extravaganza, at The Victoria Free House on 779 Colombo Street - just a short walk from the conference venue!
After a Saturday filled with entertainment from the SGU, we have a solid line-up for Sunday with Dr David La Rooy, Mark Ottley, Liz Gregory from the Gloriavale Leavers Trust, University of Canterbury social psychologist Dr Andrew Vonasch, and Dr Ekant Veer, Professor of Marketing also from UC. We will be updating our conference website in the coming weeks with speaker biographies, presentation topics, and details about our formal dinner; make sure you visit conference.skeptics.nz often.
Finally, the most exciting piece of news is the generous support of Lee Traynor and the Traynor Foundation to sponsor 20 conference scholarships for secondary and tertiary students. These scholarships will cover the cost of a weekend pass. We will announce on the conference website, the membership list, and our facebook page when we are ready to accept applications.
