It was the Weirdest of Times
13th October 2025
We’re living in strange times, with so much upheaval in the US that it’s already having global repercussions.
In this newsletter we have three articles that look at some of the strange and bad ideas coming out of US politics. Bronwyn has written about Health Secretary RFK Jr’s newest weird claim, that circumcision is linked to paracetamol and autism in a holy trinity of cause and effect. Al Blenney is back with an article about Trump’s baffling decision to share a fake AI video of him being interviewed on Fox News about fictional MedBeds. And finally I’ve written about the War on Science - both the actual war that we can see happening, and a more fictional war that some prominent scientists are convinced is real.
Paul Ashton has responded to the idea that the Rapture was delayed because of calendar issues, giving some interesting details on the Julian calendar. Obviously Pastor Joseph’s updated Rapture prediction of October the 7th failed to materialise, and he hasn’t yet given anyone a reason why, or for that matter a third date for the end of the world as we know it. However the Cent Twins have had their husbands join them on their podcast to school them on the “real” theology of the Rapture.
To finish up Katrina has been sleuthing, digging up some details from court documents about a case in the UK involving Gerson therapy, cancer and a potential preventable death. Bronwyn has followed up on the case of a New Zealand fraudster who faked her qualifications so that she could work as a medical professional in the UK for many years. And finally I’ve been totally unsurprised to see a familiar name in the media related to academic claims that the aliens are coming for us.
