Jesus on Venus — believe it

Jesus Christ lives on Venus. Earth has narrowly escaped invasion by the Fish Men. Two machines pull in healing energy from deep space and spread it around Earth each night.

And no one wants to know.

The New Zealand organiser of the Aetherius Society, Dr. Margaret Kilbey — the doctorate is from the Institute of Evangelical Crusades in the United States — is unfazed by scepticism about the society’s beliefs.

“We don’t get discouraged by the lack of belief,” she said yesterday.

The society, whose motto is “Service is the Jewel in the Rock of Attainment”, has been described by one English columnist as a “splendidly nutty outfit’. The name Aetherius, roughly translated from Greek, means “the man who flies through the ether”.

Dr. Kilbey points out that everyone once believed Earth was flat and those who disputed the general belief were ridiculed.

The society believes that sooner or later everyone will accept its theories.

“We appreciate that creation is such that there is separate development,” said Dr. Kilbey.

The 15-member New Zealand branch of the society follows the teachings of Englishman Sir George King who claimed in 1954 the existence of cosmic masters who wish to help mankind.

That Christ lives on Venus, the attempted invasion by the Fish Men and the existence of the healing energy machines are all part of his theories.

Dr. Kilbey said Sir George warned the Soviet Union of defects in its nuclear power plants some 15 years before Chernobyl with information passed on from extraterrestrials.

“It’s all on record in the British Museum.”

Last month the society made headlines in Britain and the United States by claiming there was a cover-up of extraterrestrial activity — a cosmic Watergate — on Earth by world governments.

After running a public opinion poll on unidentified flying objects, the society claims 60 per cent of Britons believe some of the ufos are spacecraft visiting Earth.

Dr. Kilbey said the society hoped to get signatures for a petition to the Government asking for ufo information to be released.

Why are governments keeping this information from the people?

They fear the balance of power would be upset, Dr. Kilbey says. Earthlings, particularly military forces, would be forced to acknowledge a greater power than their own.

Believe it or not.
